She’s raging
Spitting fire of rage
Blazing flames, speeding of anger
leaving only but blackness and death
Rushing storms, thunder as bombs
with floods and destruction in the streets
Men and women dragged by the wild waters
Animals eaten by the burning flames
Heavens opened pouring out anger
on us, racing around like mad men
Skies broken overflowing with tears
Our world is sick
We are sick, because we lack compassion with all that is alive
Poisoning our minds with an overload of news and numbing medicines
Building up apathy and segregation
Blinded by the things we don’t want to acknowledge
Spots black as deep endless holes
The newborn baby will ask you what you did
If you were brave enough and helped our Mother Earth
Your daughter will ask you if you were good to her
Did you tread her softly, with honour and grace?
she will ask you
How can you answer with all the privilege you were given
that you were too self-indulgent, too lazy, too attached to give back?
Too distracted to be angry
Of endlessly taking
Without planet, there’s no life, no work, no money, no economy, no hope for better lives
We need to give back before we are completely blind
We have to stop plundering, overheating and neglecting her
Stop this act of war
Before countries will turn into deserts
And we will live in wastelands without any hope left
What will you answer
What will you tell this child
that will die of a broken world.
