The summer solstice is today, June 21. It is (here in the northern hemisphere) the longest day of the year, after which the sunlight will recede. Traditionally, it has been a joyous celebration in anticipation of the harvest ripening in the fields. The fruitful union of the sun and the earth is celebrated as the union of the Goddess and the God. The summer solstice is a flower festival celebrating the growth of nature and in our lives. See the flourishing around you, realize what is blooming in your own life and what makes you truly happy. Feel that you are alive!
Today -because of the hot summer temperatures – I don’t feel so alive, but the plants in the garden are! We were very lucky with days of rain late in Spring this year.
This is a instareels from pics and videos of two weeks ago:
Tending the tomatoes 🍅
And here some gardenlove to you from yesterday!
Each day we go to the forest to get buckets of mulch (leaves, pieces of branches) for the garden. To protect the soil and plants from the heat and to make sure the water is retained well.
You see the plants are blooming, growing, expanding and flourishing. The force of nature is what amazes me these days. Love to learn from nature. She has important lessons for us to learn.
Thank you Mother Nature.
Happy Summer Solstice to you!
Con Amor,
Eva
